Monthly Favorites | March 2017

March 31, 2017

I can't believe March is almost over. This year is going so fast, but I am very excited for April! My blog's second birthday is April 12th! I can't believe it has been almost 2 years already.

To celebrate my blog's birthday I am going to upload everyday in April! Or at least try. Blogging everyday can be a challenge but I'm going to try to make it happen.

I have a fun April planned nonetheless, so get ready for a month of awesome posts! I can't wait. But before we get the April uploads we need to talk about my favorites from March.

My Month In Lipstick | March 2017

I'm so excited to do one of these posts. I've seen them all over Instagram and Twitter. I love lippies so the idea of a recap of the lippies I've been rocking this month is really exciting!

So today I want to share the lipsticks I have been wearing in March.

Are we the ones being Duped? | Let's Talk About Dupes

March 25, 2017

Everyone has been talking about dupes lately. I really love reading people's sides on this debate and I wanted to share my thoughts.

A lot of you are probably tired of hearing about this and you are probably ready for this topic to die. But for those of you that are still interested or are new to the debate let's talk about the future of dupes and if companies are taking it too far.

My Kind of Video Games

March 23, 2017

I love video games. They are my favorite past time. When I have free time I always go to video games or reading books.

I've been playing video games for as long as I can remember. We had a Nintendo 64 in our living room and I remember playing Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64.

Today I want to talk about what kind of videos I like to play.

My Favorite Cruelty Free Brands

March 21, 2017

I love makeup but I love it even more when it's cruelty-free! If you are new to makeup or maybe just never heard the term, cruelty-free means the products are not tested on animals at any point, whether that means the ingredients in the products before production, or test of the product during or after production.

Brands that the considered cruelty free are brands that never test their products on animals in any way. There are brands who do not test on animals themselves but sell their products in countries like China. China requires animal testing by law so if a company sells their products in China they must submit products for testing. So these brands are not considered cruelty free.

A lot of people in the cruelty free beauty community consider cruelty free brands that are owned by non-cruelty free brands to not be cruelty free. A few brands in this post are owned by non-cruelty free brands. I will mention if a company has a parent company that is not cruelty-free.

Lion fish and Tiger Sharks and Stingrays, Oh My! | Oh the Places You Will Go | The Newport Aquarium

March 17, 2017

So I actually went to the Newport Aquarium last summer. But I never shared my photos from my trip on my blog. My sister is a pass holder and I got to go with her last weekend for free for Pass Holders Weekend.

I decided to take my photos from both trips and make a post for you guys. The first time we went was the first time I had ever been to an aquarium. I love it so much! I was so excited to go back again! It was so beautiful!

My Drugstore Products Wishlist

March 15, 2017

I realized today that when I did My Beauty Product Wish List in February it was mostly high-end products. Today I decided to make a little list of drugstore products I want to try. I love drugstore makeup and I didn't realize how much it got left out of my wish list post.

Drugstore makeup is great. It is very affordable and had gotten exponentially better in quality over the last few years. Drugstore makeup used to feel really cheep but now I'd say some DS brands give high-end brands a run for their money.

I just did an anti-haul/anti-wishlist on Monday so doing this right after might not be the best timing. The idea of that post was to get away from the buy buy buy mentality beauty bloggers can give off so following it with a list of products I want to buy probably isn't the best idea.

But I thought what the hell, I want to share this list. So here are some drugstore products I want to try.

The Anti-Haul | Beauty Products I'll Never Buy

March 13, 2017

You might have seen this trend floating around the internet recently. If you haven't the basis is simple. Instead of doing a haul of products I just bought I give you a list of products I would never buy.

From the blog posts I've seen the idea of these posts came from the idea that blogs constantly taking about products they want or just bought or really love and it can feel like blogs are always saying buy, buy, buy, buy.

So the idea of this post is to get away from that and tell you some of the products that would never make it into our collections. The products that just scream no to us.

I really loved the idea and decided to jump on board. There are a few products I just don't understand the hype of and why people would want them and some products that aren't necessarily hyped but that I just don't understand why they exist.

So today I thought I'd take you through some of the products I'd never by in a million years.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara | Review + Lash Swatches

March 11, 2017

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

"Take home our Better Than Sex mascara and all your desires for lush, incredibly intense lashes will be fulfilled. One application of our collagen-fueled formula and touch of our specially shaped brush will leave you begging for more. One coat and lashes are full, defined and stretched to unbelievable lengths. Two coats and they’re reaching unbelievable heights of drama. Three coats and you’ll believe in magic."

-Snippet from Too Faced Product Page

The details on Too Faced website says this mascara has a "film-forming Polymer for smudge-proof, all day wear" and contains "Acacia Senegal Tree Extract to nourish, thicken and lock curl in place" and "unique peptides for the deepest, intense black possible."

Too Faced also says that in a consumer study "100% saw longer lashes, 100% saw dramatic volume, and 93% saw base-to-tip curl." And Too Faced says in a clinical study this mascara gave "1,944% more volume."

So Too Faced promises this mascara will make lashes appear longer, thinker, fuller and have more volume. With a base-to-tip locked in curl that will wear all day without smudging. And that over time use of this mascara could help lashes grow longer and thicker.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara is available for $23 at Ulta, Sephora and the Too Faced website. It is also available for £19 at Selfridges if you are from the UK.

Here is my experience with the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.

Blogs I'm Loving At The Moment

I have been discovering so many new blogs recently. I've also been enjoying some old favorites. Today I wanted to share with you all some of the blogs that I can't get enough of recently!

Origins RitualiTea Mind Over Maté Invigorating Cleansing Body Mask | First Impressions

March 07, 2017

Origins RitualiTea Mind Over Maté Invigorating Cleansing Body Mask

First off I want to say a big thank you to Origins for sending me this body scrub. I haven't marked this as a press sample because they did not send it for me to review or write a post on. I tweeted that I really wanted to try their brand and they sent over a few samples for me to try.

I still wanted to write a little post for you guys to tell you my thoughts. I was originally going to do a review but I feel like you can't review a skincare product until you have used it for a few months, so I decided to do a first impressions for you guys.

I have been using this scrub for a month. I switched it out for my current scrub and use it once a week/bi-weekly in the shower.

The Gamer TAG

March 01, 2017

I am every nerdy and geeky. I love all things sci-fi and video games. Today I thought I could do a tag about video games. I searched around and didn't really find a real tag to so just collected questions from the internet and made up some of my own. I thought The Gamer Tag was a cute name.

This tag is a collection of 20 video game themed questions. I search the internet and my brain and these are my favorite 20 I came up with!

Just a little warring there maybe be spoilers in this post for The Last of Us, Outlast and Undertale.
