Urban Decay Naked Basics Eyeshadow Palette

This palette is Urban Decay's first matte palette. Urban Decay describes the six shadows as smooth, velvety, suede-like feel with a luxe finish that never looks chalky or powdery. Urban Decay says these shadows have "color that stays on your lids."

Here is my experience with the Urban Decay Naked Basics Eyeshadow Palette.

I was so excited to try this palette. I love matte makeup and I'd never tried Urban Decay before. I'd heard a lot of great things about this palette and had to try it for myself.

The colors looked great and I love how small the palette is. It is so little it could fit in my bag so easily!

The palette is mag of a had plastic and feels like suede on the outside. It has a mirror in the lid the full length of the palette. It snaps together well and stays shut in my bag.

The shadows are spaced far enough apart that the powder doesn't get into on another. They palette is the perfect size! A lot of companies make the palettes way to big and you end up with more packaging than product.

There are 6 shades in this palette. Five are matte and one is shimmer. The matte shades are Crave, a brownish black, Faint, a warm light brown, Naked 2, a taupe, Walk of Shame (W.O.S. in the palette), peachy nude, and Foxy, a cream colored nude. Venus is the shimmer shade and is an off white nude.

These shadows are smooth, soft, and as UD's description says, feel's like velvet. There is a ton of product in those pans. The pigmentation is pretty great as UD promises.

The colors build and blend very well and wear all day. Crave can look like a dark brown or black depending on how you blend or build it. WOS is very close to my skin tone so you can't see it all that well below. I really like that it is that close. It's great for days when I just want to even out my eyes without putting on color.

All of the shades look beautiful on the eyes and go well with any other eyeshadow colors you could want. They are great base colors and look great on there own or as the background for other eye looks.

 Nudes are great because they go with any eye color which is one of the best things about this palette.

All the shades remove with a little makeup remover and water and didn't stain my arm durning my swatch or my eyes durning wear.

Was it worth the hype? I heard a lot of good things about this palette before I got it and it has really lived up. I love this palette! It is probably one of my most used makeup products.

Was it worth the price? I really thing that it is. I really love this palette and use it almost everyday!
  
I really love that 5 of the shades are matte and I really love the colors. I love to use Faint on my bottom lash line with WOS on my lids and Crave in my crease with Foxy in my inner corner and on my brow bone.

I really love this palette! It is a great basic palette that can be use for a look all on it's own or as the base for what ever look you want.
