Monthly Favorites | August 2015

It’s so crazy that August is already gone. This year is going by so fast!

A lot of people hate August because it’s the month of back to school. I’ve always loved August. Autumn is almost here, it starts to get cool at night, and it’s chilly enough at in the mornings to have a cup of tea. I love Autumn!


This month’s favorite list is a long one. So let’s get started.

MAC Retro Matte Lipstick

I finally got my first MAC product this month! I got the Retro Matte Lipstick in Ruby Woo and fell in love. I love the MAC formula! It is so soft and creamy. It applies so easily! It has great staying power and after about 20 minutes I had no transfer. I love it! Ruby Woo is a beautiful matte classic red! I love this shade! I can’t wait to get more MAC lipsticks and try so of their other products!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Liner

I love this liner! I love to wear it by itself. It looks so go by itself. It’s matte and very pigmented. And UD liners are so smooth! I love the eye liners too! There all just so great!

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil

I love this pencil! It has great pigmentation and it is soft and smooth. It doesn’t dry out the lips or get patchy. I got the shade Cruella and an original formula pencil in a birthday give set from Sephora for their beauty rewards program. I love them both but the Matte one is my favorite.

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

I love this BB cream! It’s so light but it still gives great coverage. It applies evenly and easily and stays put. I’ve worn it out in 95 degree heat running around with little kids and it didn’t budge. I love it!

 


NYX Dark Circle Concealer



I love this concealer! It’s such a great color match to me. But I also have some issues with it. I doesn’t have as much coverage as I’d like but I love the color match. If I’m in a hurry I can apply just the concealer on spots and under my eyes. It doesn’t completely cover it but I can build over spots and even thought it doesn’t completely cover my dark circles with my glasses you can’t really see them.

 


Sally Hansen Double Duty Base & Top Coat



I love this B&T Coat. It helps all of my polishes last longer and it’s helped my nails harden. I always does 1 coat on my bare nails, 2 or more coats if color, and then finish with this as a top coat. Sometimes it doesn’t matter if I use this B&T coat. Sometimes the color polish just sucks and any problems I have are the color’s fault.

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Nail Color (Original Hard As Nail Formula)



I love love love this nail color! The formula is amazing! It dries within 5 minutes and it’s got great pigmentation. I love SH colors. Some of the formulas can be a little iffy. Some shades in some formulas just don’t work. But I have not had any problems with this formula. It’s my favorite nail color of all time!

TV Shows

Doctor Who


Doctor Who season 8 finally can onto Netflix this month! I was so excited! DW is my favorite show ever. I was so excited to see season 8! I really liked Peter as the 12th Doctor and can’t wait to see his next season. This season, like all the season prior, was so well written and acted. I miss Matt Smith so dearly but I look forward to the future with Peter.

  


Pretty Little Liars

Season 5 of PLL hit Netflix in June so I was finally able to catch up on the second half and the first half of Season 6 wrapped this month. I have been loving PLL for the past 3 months but I wanted to wait for 6A to wrap before putting it in my favorites. The finale was so good! A lot of fans didn’t like but I’ve been watching the show since season 2 started and I loved it! Everything tied in together so well and they still left one or two loose ends that could be the lead in to the “he” who is after Ali in 6B. I can’t wait for the winter premiere!

  




Bands

 Falling In Reverse (Again)

I just love them so much! I had just discovered them at the end of July so that’s why they were in my July faves but I wanted to also include them in my August Faves too because I’ve just fallen deeper and deeper in love with them this month. I just love them so much!!

Songs

This song is so good! The instrumental is amazing and Ronnie’s lyrics are so meaningful. I love it!

Video Games & Electronics

Minecraft Xbox 360

I love watching Minecraft videos on YouTube and I finally got a new controller for my Xbox so I could play. It is so relaxing to mine and build. You can create your own little world. A lot of people write it off as a stupid kid’s game but it’s a really great game. My sister is 26 so she doesn’t really know much about the game. I’ve been explaining it to her and now she wants to play. Seriously this game is so relaxing.

PowerA R2-D2 Star Wars Xbox 360 Wired Controller

This controller is so cool! It’s an off brand but it works perfectly! It’s all white with R2-D2 on the front. It is so cute! The letters on the buttons are written like a space text which I think is a cool touch. I live this controller!

Flat Charging Cords

Anyone with an Apple product that takes a lightening cable knows the cable starts to bunch up around the plug in and eventually breaks open, if it doesn’t stop working first.

After my 6th cord broke and the one that came with my iPad wasn’t far behind I decided to buy 3 flat cables for my phone, iPad, and iPod. I’ve had them a month and they are working great.

Off brands and Apple products scare me though because Apple devices don’t always like to connect and work with off brands but I have had no problems so far. And Flat cords are tangle free!

I was look through pins on Pinterest. I found this blog through a pin linked to her blog post for coconut oil brown sugar lip scrub. I started looking at some of her other posts and fell in love with her blog! It’s amazing!

 


Random Stuffs

Meeting My Niece!

This month I finally met my niece who was born in April. She is so sweet and precious! She is so beautiful! I got to spend so time with her and my nephew. It was an amazing weekend! I hated saying goodbye. I can’t wait to see them again in 2 weeks! They are coming back home while my sister covers The Steel City Tattoo Convention for Inked Magazine later this month. I’m so excited!

Tyler Oakley’s Auguest 2015

This year was so amazing! The guests were great and the videos were hilarious. If you don’t know what Auguest is it’s a yearly collab month that YouTuber Tyler Oakley does on his YouTube Channel. He does a collab video every weekday the entire month of August. This year was great. Tyler collabed with some of my favorite YouTubers and I got to watch him jump out of a plane and get his first tattoo. This month was very eventful.

My favorite collab of this year were the videos with Hannah Hart. She is one of my absolute faves! They did Pancake Art on Tyler’s Channel and Hannah Fed TylerBaby Food on her channel. I also loved watching Tyler and Marcus ButlerPlay with Helium on Marcus’s Channel and I loved the Final DisneyChallenge with Zoella. (Zoe's Channel) This year was just so amazing and I loved it all!

 The County Fair

I’ve gone to the same county fair for the past 5 years. My dad and I always go and I love it! I love the fair food, the rides, and the lemonade. And every year they have events every night in the main arena. This year it was the rodeo. My dad and I spent the whole day just walking around looking at animals and watching The Horse Shows. And then we watched the Rodeo. It was so much fun!

 


August was so much fun! I loved it so much! I’m so excited for September and I can’t wait for it to start cooling off and for the leaves to start turning and falling. Autumn is hands down my favorite season. I can’t wait for it to start!
